Vehicle Description

My name is Brian Spagnola, and this description has been written by my grandfather John Dorrian of Des Moines, Iowa. I can tell you first hand that he is the most attention to detail person you will ever meet. The bike is dream!

The Motorcycle is located in Des Moines, Iowa. We can help with shipping worldwide.

From John Dorrian the present owner:

This motorcycle belonged my best friend who purchased it from the original owner, rode for several years and died in a tragic car accident (bike was not invloved). The bike sat for 28 years before the family offered it to me in 2009. Restoring the bike to Concourse quality became a labor of love with every task being performed flawlessly as you can witness from the photos.

The bike has matching vin and frame numbers and was completely disassembled with the frame powder coated by Miller Powder Coating. The engine work was completed by Super T Specialties who has been tuning British bikes since 1966. The new engine parts include: sludge trap, 9 to 1 Pistons, wrist pins, primary chain, Barnett clutch, valve springs, rocker arms, inlet and exhaust camshaft and drivetrain, etc. A letter from Super T with the complete engine work performed is available. All of the Cadmium hardware has been replayed by Billmark Co.- Fort Worth, Texas. The original parts re-chromed by Chrome Reflections consist of but not limited to: wheels, handlebars, P clamps, air filters, fork dusk excluder's, points cover, shift lever, kick starter, tack drive etc. The Olympic Flame, Silver and White trim paint was aquired from Don Hutchinson Cycle and applied by Tony Morrow Autobody.

Baxter Cycle in Marne, Iowa was a big help with restoration information and locating the many needed parts. Replaced parts include but not limited to: exhaust pipes and silencers, side reflectors, seat pan, seat cover, seat pad, chain, tires, tubes, tire stays, ss spokes, amal mono blocks, fuel lines, wheel bearings, wiring harness, coils, fork seals, battery, cables for clutch brake and throttle, springs, left and right card adapters, all engine gaskets, silencer stay, taillight wiring protector, and many more necessary to complete the restoration.

The bike has 1,894 original miles on the clock, 9 of those miles since the rebuild to make sure that everything was working well and than the fuel was drained and the bike parked. To my knowledge the bike is better than when it left the factory and Coventry England in 1969.

Some of you are aware of the problem I have not enough space in the garage for the things you would like to keep. I have made the decision to make the bike available for someone else to enjoy because I also have a 1967 triumph T 100 are Daytona that I restored and have written several hundred miles so that helped make the decision on which one to part with.
